Easy Steps for Successful Email Marketing

I have been seeing this question around a lot lately so I thought why not cover it in a quick post here. Running an email campaign can be a great way to keep in touch with your customers/subscribers and let them know about new products/services your offering along with event announcements, etc. However if you don’t approach this properly it could prove disastrous, so let’s get started on how to appropriately go about this shall we?

You’ll want to make sure your not breaking any laws first, so you’ll probably wan tot read up about Spam laws. Now that you know about the laws, you’ll want to make it clear to your recipients who it’s from and what it’s about. To do this you’ll want the from field to say your business name rather then an email address, for the subject field you’ll want to make that as specific as possible, if you’re advertising a sale indicate that or if your unveiling a new product or service put what that is. By doing these simple things you’ll be giving your customers a reason to open the email.

Alright now that we have gotten them to open the email it’s time to let them know what it’s all about. So get to the point as quickly as possible, you don’t need to include your business history, or anything else like this as they must already know something about it since they have volunteered their email address to you. Let your readers know what they are supposed to do with a call to action, let them know by making your message clear. Also it’s important that the link you include in the email leads them to the specific page that includes what your message was about. Don’t just lead them to your homepage if that’s not were your sale product is or your new product/service.

If you need more help with this or you just don’t want to create these email yourself, you may want to consider using an email service provider. They can do anything from just delivering the email for you, all the way to creating the email, and best of all they make sure that it’s compliant with the spam laws.
