Is your content king?

As you my have heard many times before content is king, while it’s very important keep in mind that it’s not all that is needed for search engine optimization (SEO). There are many other factor to consider both on and off your webpage besides for content, but in any case I will be covering the importance of your websites content in this post.
I will be covering some ways of making your content better, and how to optimize it.

Fixing Simple Problems

The first thing you’ll want to do is run spell check and clean up any errors that may be on your page. If you have any misspellings in key areas such as headers and page links this could definitely hamper your efforts. While targeting misspellings maybe a good way to gain some traffic, you will be better off just using that in the “keyword” meta tag. It’s best to keep the main (visible) body of your text clean and error free.

If you find that creating good error free content for your pages isn’t your cup of tea your in luck (just head over to the store and shop around our content packages). We can also review your websites text and make any corrections that maybe needed, keep in mind that this is valuable work as this is what draws visitors in and turns them into customers.

The next step in this process is to make sure that your pages clearly expresses your site’s goals. This can be done through descriptions of the products or services that you offer, and also you’ll want to include any other pertinent and persuasive information you want your customers to know. The best way to do this is to pretend that you are a potential customer, and that you are visiting your site for the first time. If the content on your website makes you want to purchase your products or services good, if not you have some work ahead of you.

One of the best content types would be for you to show off your expertise in your subject area. Start a blog so you can write and share this informative information. This will bring new and repeat visitors to your website (especially if updated regularly), and can often times help you with another area of SEO; inbound links!

Promote your content

Now that you have all this great content on your website, you’ll need to somehow let people know that it exists. To do this you can start participating in online forums (related to your industry), creating press releases to get media coverage, and also writing and submitting articles for publications.

After all this work, your reputation will start growing (in your industry and community) as well as your traffic, and your site will eventually be deemed an authority site in this specific subject. Soon after this, webmasters will start linking to you, to help their customers and also their own SEO efforts, providing you with even more authority.

The end goal for all of this work in quality content creation is of course for more traffic, but also the natural (organic), inbound link, from a relevant source. This will happen quite naturally because good content attracts fans and in turn these fans will link to your page from theirs. This is what’s needed for improving your rankings in the SERPs.

I’ll be one of the first to admit that creating all this quality content isn’t easy, and it’s even harder to keep it fresh because after all your busy trying to run a business. However this is what separates the good websites from the great websites in the search engine results.

Just be patient, and make sure that you keep creating great content at what ever pace you can. Just let it build up over time, and it will continue to build new visitors and draw back the old ones. Remember the old tortoise and the hare story, slow and steady will win the race in the long run.

Don’t Cheat

Content is only king when it’s well written, expert in nature, relevant to the site, and original. Search engines have massive indexes and can find duplicate content from across the web and there can be penalties if your content has be copied. So your site will do best with quality original content, either created by you, or you can have it expertly written.
